If your organization restricts which apps employees can approve, people who try to sign in to Grapple with Microsoft see a Need admin approval screen. A Microsoft Entra administrator can approve Grapple once for the whole organization, after which everyone in the tenant can sign in.

Before you start

You need a work or school account in your organization’s Microsoft Entra tenant with one of these roles:
  • Global Administrator
  • Privileged Role Administrator
  • Cloud Application Administrator
  • Application Administrator
Personal Microsoft accounts (such as Outlook.com) don’t use this flow.
If your account belongs to more than one tenant, sign in with the account for the organization you want to approve. Consent applies only to the tenant you sign in to.
1

Open the admin consent link

Open the Grapple admin consent link:
2

Sign in as an administrator

Sign in with your administrator account for the organization.
3

Review and accept

Microsoft lists the permissions Grapple requests. Review them, then select Accept.
After you select Accept, Microsoft sends you back to Grapple’s sign-in page, which may show a sign-in error. That page expects a user sign-in, so the error is expected. Use the steps below to confirm consent was granted.

Confirm it worked

1

Find Grapple in Enterprise applications

In the Microsoft Entra admin center, go to Enterprise applications and search for Grapple. If Grapple appears in the list, consent was granted for your organization.
2

Sign in to Grapple

Go to the Grapple dashboard and select Login with Microsoft. You and your teammates can now sign in without the approval screen.
Admin consent lets people in your organization sign in to Grapple with their Microsoft accounts. Each person still signs in individually, and Grapple accesses no Microsoft data beyond what sign-in requires. Connecting data sources is a separate step. See the Data Library to add sources.
